Guard Industry is the broadest of the three brands in the kind of products it makes. Besides sealers for surfaces it covers chemistry for site equipment and products for textiles - which is why some of those items sit under "Site equipment" and "Textiles" rather than with the surface categories.

Reading the ranges

  • ProtectGuard - sealers for porous materials. The base version is colourless and covers graffiti protection; WL gives a wet-stone effect in a matt or semi-gloss variant; MG is for materials of low porosity, including polished ones.
  • ImperGuard - water repellency for outdoor surfaces over a large area: facades, roofs, drives.
  • Net’Guard and Guard Remover - cleaning. The first targets grease and everyday soiling, the second mineral deposits: cement laitance, mortar residue, efflorescence.
  • GT and GBR - chemistry for plant, moulds and tools.
  • TexGuard and TexClean - protection and stain removal for fabrics.

A pairing the manufacturer names outright

In the ProtectGuard and ImperGuard instructions the manufacturer names the substrate preparation products by name: Guard Remover for efflorescence and cement laitance, and a degreasing product for everyday staining. Those links are reflected in the shop - on every sealer of this brand you will find them under "Prepare the substrate first".

Questions before you choose

ProtectGuard or ImperGuard?

By range and coverage. ProtectGuard also protects against oil, grease and graffiti and is suitable indoors; the manufacturer states 6 m² per litre. ImperGuard is water repellency for outdoor surfaces at 8 m² per litre - cheaper per square metre, narrower in action.

What does WL mean in the name?

Wet Look - the range that gives a wet-stone effect. It comes in two finishes, matt and semi-gloss. Protection is the same in both; what differs is how the surface looks once dry.

Why are some Guard Industry products not with the surface categories?

Because they are not for surfaces. GT and GBR are formulated for metal, moulds and tools, and TexGuard and TexClean for fabrics. Keeping them in substrate categories would suggest a use the manufacturer does not intend.
