The price on the shelf says almost nothing about what sealing costs. What counts is the cost per square metre, and that depends on three things at once: the price per litre, the coverage the manufacturer states, and the number of coats. Across the block paving shelf in our catalogue the spread runs from roughly 4 to 29 złoty per metre - on a hundred-square-metre drive, a difference of some two and a half thousand.
Below is the sum that takes it apart. Every coverage range comes from a manufacturer's data sheet, and prices are live on the product pages - which is why this text gives bands and a method, and the calculator on the product page gives the figure for your preparation.
Three things that multiply the cost
Price per litre.
The only one you see immediately - and the least decisive of the three.
Coverage in m²/l.
Given as a range: absorbent paving drinks up to twice what dense paving does.
Number of coats.
A second coat doubles consumption. It is what most often reverses the ranking.
Spare.
One pack above the sum - a later top-up is a different batch and can differ in shade.
The formula, and a hundred square metres
Litres = area ÷ coverage × coats. On an absorbent substrate work from the bottom of the range; on a dense one the top is realistic.
For a 100 m² drive and a preparation rated 5-10 m²/l in one coat, that is between 10 and 20 litres - two to four five-litre packs. Judging the absorbency alone changes the sum twofold, before you have compared a single product.
Why cheaper per litre can be dearer per metre

The trap that reverses the ranking
Look at the third row. A preparation with better coverage than the solvent-based one above it works out dearer per metre - because its manufacturer specifies two coats. Price per litre and coverage on their own are not enough; only multiplied by the number of coats do they give a figure worth comparing.
Which is why every product in the catalogue shows, beside the price, the price per litre and, where the manufacturer stated coverage, the approximate cost per square metre. Both are worked out from the manufacturer's data and attributed to it - it is the only axis on which these preparations can honestly be compared.

Common questions
What does sealing a 100 m² driveway cost?
The preparation alone usually runs between about 400 and 3000 złoty for a hundred square metres in our catalogue, depending on the product, the absorbency of the substrate and the number of coats. The low end is a single-coat water-based product on dense paving, the high end a premium preparation in two coats. The calculator on the product page gives the figure for your choice.
Is a dearer sealer better?
Price speaks to where a product sits and what a litre costs - not to how well it works. What can be compared is coverage, coats, penetration depth and the scope of use, and those figures are in the data sheets on every product. We publish no durability ranking, because we have no measurements for one.
Is the larger pack worth it?
Usually yes - the price per litre at five or twenty litres is often noticeably lower than at one. We show the price per litre for every variant, so the comparison is visible without doing the arithmetic.
How much to allow for washing first?
It depends on the soiling. Cleaning preparations have their own stated coverage and we work out a cost per metre for them too - you will find it under cleaning and restoration.
Does sealing pay for itself?
We will not work that out for you and will not pretend we can. Sealing changes water uptake and how easily a surface cleans - how much that translates into your maintenance costs depends on the surface, the traffic and the weather. The cost of entry is what we can state honestly, and we do.
