Deepens the colour of flamed granite for a wet-stone look while lowering its water uptake. Apply the water-based siloxane and silane sealer in one generous coat, and keep off the surface for 24 h afterwards.
Natural stoneHG-2 is a flamed-granite sealer with a wet-look finish. On thermally worked stone the difference is marked: flaming lightens granite, and the product restores a saturation close to that of polished stone.
You apply it just like the colourless version: once, in one heavier coat of about 1 mm, whatever the absorbency of the substrate. After sealing, keep the surface out of use for 24 hours.
A water-based, multi-component product (siloxanes with modified silanes), alkali and UV resistant.
Stone forgives less than concrete. An acidic cleaner used on marble or travertine will etch the surface irreversibly, and excess sealer on a polish leaves a smear that can no longer be removed.
After sealing, polished stone usually stays out of use for 72 hours.
Before sealing the whole area, test on a patch hidden by a planter or in a corner of the patio. The same product can read differently on two batches of the same material, and on a surface with old coating left on it, it will not bond at all.
Not always. Marble is soft and sensitive to acids, granite is not, so the product has to match the type of stone. Before you buy, check that marble is on the list of recommended substrates.
With cleaning products of the right pH. For the polished-stone range that is usually pH 5-9 for the invisible versions, and a wider range for the wet-look ones. You will find the range for your product in its technical data.
It helps, though not in every case. It limits the ingress of water and the compounds dissolved in it, including those that discolour stone from below. It will not stop processes inside the stone itself, or rust from fixings.
Composition and finish. The -1 versions are single-component, based on siloxanes alone, and dry colourless. The -2 versions are multi-component - siloxanes with modified silanes - and give a lasting wet-look finish. Both meet PN-EN 1504-2 tab. 3 and both leave the pores open.
Consumption depends on the absorbency of the material, because the product is applied to saturation - so the surest way to work it out is to seal one square metre, see how much product it took, and multiply by your area, adding a margin.
After 5-6 hours. Until then, protect the freshly sealed surface from rain and from direct sun.
Apply once, in a single thick coat, to full saturation - no second pass, whatever the absorbency of the stone. Consumption depends on how much the stone takes up.
