Protects granite, marble, porcelain and terrazzo against the ingress of water, oils, grease and weak acids. It forms no film and leaves the look of the surface unchanged. A water-based, solvent-free formula - the manufacturer holds food-contact approval for it.
Natural stoneMaterials of low porosity - granite, marble, porcelain, terrazzo - will not take an ordinary sealer: there are no pores for it to enter. The MG range was developed for them.
The Eco version is water-based and solvent-free. According to the manufacturer's data it is classified as neither corrosive nor irritant, and it holds food-contact approval - which makes it an excellent choice for kitchen worktops and work surfaces, where the concentrated version would be more than is needed.
The product forms no film and is colourless: the stone keeps its colour, its polish and its vapour permeability. It protects against water, oil, grease and weak acids - fruit juice, vinegar, spices.
Stone forgives less than concrete. An acidic cleaner used on marble or travertine will etch the surface irreversibly, and excess sealer on a polish leaves a smear that can no longer be removed.
After sealing, polished stone usually stays out of use for 72 hours.
Before sealing the whole area, test on a patch hidden by a planter or in a corner of the patio. The same product can read differently on two batches of the same material, and on a surface with old coating left on it, it will not bond at all.
Not always. Marble is soft and sensitive to acids, granite is not, so the product has to match the type of stone. Before you buy, check that marble is on the list of recommended substrates.
With cleaning products of the right pH. For the polished-stone range that is usually pH 5-9 for the invisible versions, and a wider range for the wet-look ones. You will find the range for your product in its technical data.
It helps, though not in every case. It limits the ingress of water and the compounds dissolved in it, including those that discolour stone from below. It will not stop processes inside the stone itself, or rust from fixings.
Eco where food contact matters and where working without solvents matters: kitchen worktops, tables, work surfaces. MG where graffiti protection is also needed and the surface has no contact with food.
Yes. The product holds food-contact approval (manufacturer's data), and granite is one of the materials the MG range was developed for. Before starting, check the worktop has not been waxed - a sealer will not get through a layer of wax.
It helps - the product protects against weak acids such as fruit juice, vinegar and spices. It is not absolute resistance, though, so wipe up spilled juice straight away, whether the stone is sealed or not.
Consumption depends on how absorbent the surface is and how you apply the product.
