Deepens the colour of travertine for a wet-stone look without making it more slippery. Use it indoors and out, on a substrate free of wax, polish, polymer coatings and grease.

On older installations one condition is easy to overlook: the substrate must carry no wax, polish, polymer coating or grease. The product penetrates the stone, so it cannot get through such a layer.
For use indoors and out, on old and new surfaces. Coverage about 20 m² per litre, application temperature +10 to +25 °C.
Stone forgives less than concrete. An acidic cleaner used on marble or travertine will etch the surface irreversibly, and excess sealer on a polish leaves a smear that can no longer be removed.
- Match the cleaner to the stone. Marble, travertine and limestone are sensitive to acids - for those, neutral or alkaline products are the right ones.
- Remove waxes, polishes and polymer coatings. A penetrating sealer will not get through a layer of wax.
- Dry the stone all the way through and check that no moisture is being drawn up through the joints.
- On polished surfaces have a clean, soft cloth ready to lift the excess - you have minutes, not hours.
- Ventilate well when working with solvent-based products.
After sealing, polished stone usually stays out of use for 72 hours.
Before sealing the whole area, test on a patch hidden by a planter or in a corner of the patio. The same product can read differently on two batches of the same material, and on a surface with old coating left on it, it will not bond at all.

- Can I use a granite sealer on marble?
Not always. Marble is soft and sensitive to acids, granite is not, so the product has to match the type of stone. Before you buy, check that marble is on the list of recommended substrates.
- How do I clean stone once it has been sealed?
With cleaning products of the right pH. For the polished-stone range that is usually pH 5-9 for the invisible versions, and a wider range for the wet-look ones. You will find the range for your product in its technical data.
- Will sealing stop the stone yellowing?
It helps, though not in every case. It limits the ingress of water and the compounds dissolved in it, including those that discolour stone from below. It will not stop processes inside the stone itself, or rust from fixings.
- Why 72 hours out of use?
The product bonds with the stone slowly, and during that time the surface takes marks easily. After eight hours marks from shoes, knee pads or uneven polishing can no longer be removed.
- Does the room have to be ventilated?
Yes. This is a solvent-based product, so ensure good ventilation during application and for 72 hours afterwards.
- How do I tell whether travertine has been waxed?
Try a water-drop test: if the drop beads and the stone beneath it does not darken within a few minutes, there is a coating on the surface. Remove it before sealing.
