Concrete and floorsPolish'Guard is a wear layer, not a sealer. A metal-cross-linked acrylic emulsion forms a film on the floor that resists abrasion and scratching while reducing slip.
One product, two modes of use. Undiluted, it lays the wear layer. Diluted 1:9 with water it serves as routine maintenance - refreshing the film without laying it again.
It can also be used on substrates already sealed with products from the ProtectGuard range - there it acts as a finishing layer over the sealer, not a replacement for it.
Stone forgives less than concrete. An acidic cleaner used on marble or travertine will etch the surface irreversibly, and excess sealer on a polish leaves a smear that can no longer be removed.
After sealing, polished stone usually stays out of use for 72 hours.
Before sealing the whole area, test on a patch hidden by a planter or in a corner of the patio. The same product can read differently on two batches of the same material, and on a surface with old coating left on it, it will not bond at all.
Not always. Marble is soft and sensitive to acids, granite is not, so the product has to match the type of stone. Before you buy, check that marble is on the list of recommended substrates.
With cleaning products of the right pH. For the polished-stone range that is usually pH 5-9 for the invisible versions, and a wider range for the wet-look ones. You will find the range for your product in its technical data.
It helps, though not in every case. It limits the ingress of water and the compounds dissolved in it, including those that discolour stone from below. It will not stop processes inside the stone itself, or rust from fixings.
No. A sealer enters the material and lowers its water uptake; Polish'Guard sits on top as a wear layer.
As often as the traffic demands - the harder the floor is used, the more often. To refresh the film, use the product diluted 1:9.
Consumption depends on how absorbent the surface is and how you apply the product.
