VB-1 is a colourless sealer for concrete walls and architectural concrete - vertical surfaces, where the point is that the material should look exactly as it was designed to.
The product lowers the water uptake of the wall and limits the ingress of compounds dissolved in water, while keeping vapour permeability. On architectural concrete that is a necessary condition: the structure has to release moisture.
For use indoors and out, on old and new surfaces. Applied to saturation, in one heavier coat.
Concrete accepts a sealer only when it is dry, clean and seasoned. A fresh slab is still giving off mix water and will push any coating off with it.
A new floor and fresh precast units have to season. Manufacturers give that period on the data sheet; for precast concrete it is usually around 28 days.
Before sealing the whole area, test on a patch hidden by a planter or in a corner of the patio. The same product can read differently on two batches of the same material, and on a surface with old coating left on it, it will not bond at all.
Products that form a polymer layer bind the loose particles on the surface, and manufacturers describe them as dust-free. That is not a substitute for a hardener where the concrete itself is dusting because it was poorly floated - the problem is then in the slab, not on it.

Remove them before sealing, with an oil stain remover. A sealer applied over a stain seals it in and fixes it - oil will not evaporate through a sealed layer.
It limits the ingress of water and the salts dissolved in it. How far that goes depends on the product, and we quote it from the manufacturer's data sheet rather than generalising.
Composition and finish. The -1 versions are single-component, based on siloxanes alone, and dry colourless. The -2 versions are multi-component - siloxanes with modified silanes - and give a lasting wet-look finish. Both meet PN-EN 1504-2 tab. 3 and both leave the pores open.
The manufacturer of this range publishes no coverage in square metres per litre, because the product is applied to saturation and the absorbency of the material decides consumption entirely. The practical method: seal one square metre, measure what it took, and multiply by your area with some margin.
The manufacturer states 5-6 hours. During that time the freshly sealed surface also has to be kept out of direct sun.
The manufacturer describes the product as milky white, drying colourless and transparent. With architectural concrete a test patch is advisable even so - it is a material where a difference in shade is the point of the design.
