It seals the covering and returns an even colour to it. The manufacturer stresses two properties that matter on a roof: good adhesion to bituminous materials and a flexible film that bridges small cracks instead of splitting with the substrate.
It is not a substitute for repairing the roof. Losses, lifted sheets and failed flashings have to be made good before application - the product fixes the state it finds.

Wash it off first with a product for organic soiling, rinse thoroughly and dry the wall, then seal. Sealing without washing traps the growth under the treatment.
